CAMP

Holiday Camp (4 - 16yrs)

Holmfield Mills

An exciting chance to explore a plethora of gymnastics elements, equipment and disciplines for a whole day. Lots of games and fun activities will be ongoing throughout. Children will learn about fitness for gymnastics and healthy lifestyle choices as well as working on their gymnastics skills. We start the day with games and a mobility stretch to warm up. We then progress to skill-specific circuits to improve fundamentals like rolls, handstands and cartwheels. We break up the high-concentration activities with more games to improve fitness, coordination, social skills and teamwork. Regular breaks are scheduled throughout the day including snack breaks. We often choose tumbling, vaulting, beam, basic bar work and sports-acrobatics skills as the focus of our circuits. Other fun activities using our equipment like obstacle courses and games using the courses are commonplace in our camps. To add to the purpose of the day, we often choreograph group routines or hold a mini competition for the gymnasts. We have a downtime area with toys and activities for children wishing to take part at their own pace too. Unlimited juice will be provided. Children will need a water bottle and a packed lunch including snacks. Shorts/ joggers/ leggings and t-shirts/ jumpers are appropriate apparel for gymnasts to wear (leotards are ideal). Please ensure that clothing items are free from adornments like zips, studs and buttons. Warm socks are recommended in winter months. jewellery must be removed or taped up prior to arrival (please provide your own tape).
